The Swiss government is using a spyware application called Trojan horse program to tap VoIP calls, nation’s leading newspaper SonntagsZeitung reported.

The newspaper says government departments including police and intelligence services would be authorized to access the data from the users’ computers and tap their VoIP conversations using the spyware application, the report explains.

A network security company ERA IT Solutions has developed this VoIP intercepting program that would easily circumvent Skype, the paper adds.

However, the Swiss government needs judicial approval for introducing such type of controversial program.
